In addition to providing common solutions such as ironmaking, steelmaking, and steel rolling, SMG GROUP also offers other metallurgical solutions to some customers, including oxygen production and dust removal.

Oxygen is an indispensable component in many metallurgical processes. For example, in blast furnace ironmaking, adding oxygen to the blast to increase the oxygen content of the air—known as “oxygen-enriched blowing”—can accelerate the ore melting process, boost furnace productivity, and reduce coke consumption. Oxygen blowing in open-hearth steelmaking and electric arc furnace steelmaking can also shorten smelting time and lower energy consumption.

Oxygen production refers to the process of separating oxygen from compounds through metallurgical techniques. Metallurgical oxygen production typically involves high-temperature smelting or chemical reactions to extract oxygen from ores, mineral sands, or other compounds. Common oxygen production methods include oxidizing iron ores, electrolyzing water, and separation processes in air separation units.
