The SMG GROUP technical team has mastered the mature technology of electric arc furnace steelmaking and provides customers with a complete set of cost-effective steelmaking equipment, including electric arc furnaces, submerged arc furnaces, refining furnaces, and continuous casting machines. Among these, SMG GROUP offers two types of electric arc furnaces: one is a top-charging electric arc furnace, and the other is a horizontal continuous charging electric arc furnace, also known as the Consteel electric arc furnace.

Electric arc furnace steelmaking is a method that uses the high temperature generated by an electric arc to melt scrap steel and other metallic raw materials. Depending on the specific requirements of steel casting, we customize equipment configurations for customers, such as AOD furnaces, VOD furnaces, LF furnaces, and more, meeting their needs for producing ordinary carbon steel, stainless steel, and various other grades of steel.

Electric arc furnace steelmaking uses electricity as its heat source, thereby avoiding sulfur contamination of the steel that can occur with gas-fired heating sources. The operating process is flexible, allowing both slag and furnace gases to be adjusted to either oxidizing or reducing conditions. Its strong reducing atmosphere minimizes the loss of valuable elements such as chromium, nickel, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, and titanium contained in the charge. The furnace temperature is high and easy to control, resulting in high-quality steel products.
